Monday is the big day, but to get there, I have been working very hard...nothing as hard as others will be doing, but it is the getting ready that is interesting and only I can do it. That is the only way I will be able to find stuff after it is all done.
First, with a little help from my friends, I made the dining room table smaller to accommodate my "kitchen" in the dining room. Then we rolled up and stowed the carpets in the car for cleaning. Lucky me, there was someone to unload them in St. Helena...they were filthy rugs, esp. the one that KOKO favors when she has her many accidents.
Friday involved moving furniture so that even with the plastic sheeting closing off the kitchen might still get dust and grit on it. A little hard on the back but doable.
Today I had to move anything that is in the way for the removal of the appliances and the moving of the refrigerator. So that meant books and their shelves...lots of trips up and down the stairs. The place is starting to look as bare as when I first moved in, and dogs are a bit bewildered. Koko especially misses her yak wool rug.
Everything I move leads me to something else...which is a good thing, or I might have forgotten to clear out all the stuff under the cook top as that brand new item has to be uninstalled. So sad as it was just put in.
I think I will still be mostly in the kitchen until Thursday when the first exploratory ripping and tearing is supposed to start...I will move the microwave, toaster oven out that morning.
That will really be the end unless the sink survives and I can use it until the real tear out start next week.
So many steps here.
